Dantzelle Dean Schowengerdt-Adkison, 88, Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013, at her home. She was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Meta, Mo., the daughter of the late William Gregory and Lila Dean Kallenbach. On Aug. 31, 1947, she was united in marriage in Jefferson City to Paul Schowengerdt. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1996. On July 29, 2006, she was united in marriage in Jefferson City to E. Gene Adkison who survives at their home. Dantzelle was a graduate of Jefferson City High School, Christian College and the University of Missouri. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Jefferson City Art Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and serving at First Christian Church. She was well known for her hospitality and good cooking. She loved so many people. Dantzelle is survived by one daughter, Laura (Scott) Noles of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren, Stephanie Schowengerdt of St. Louis, Mo., Meredith Leigh Noles: Stephen Scott Noles, both of Fort Worth, and cousins. Dantzelle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; and one child, William Wesley Schowengerdt. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at First Christian Church with funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Garden. Expressions of sympathy may be made to First Christian Church.
