Wintry mix might arrive for St. Patrick's parade
Don Bradley
The Kansas City Star
Today is St. Patricks Day and everyone knows that means green.
But how about a little white with that?
As in snow white.
Could happen. The National Weather Service is calling for a wintry mix, including snow, likely before noon today for Kansas City, which means it could arrive about the time 86-year-old Jody Watson starts bagpiping to lead the St. Patricks Day Parade.
Only about a half-inch of snow is possible, but that makes for a cold parade which starts at 11 a.m. at Linwood and Broadway. Todays high should reach only about 39 with winds to 13 mph.
Which means parade goers should wear lots of green, layers of green.
Tonight, a mix of more snow and rain.
