Home teams: East soccer camp starts Tuesday
Hawks soccer camp set for next week
Olathe East’s championship soccer program will conduct three youth camps Tuesday through Friday at the Hawks’ practice field adjacent to the high school.
There will be two camps for youth ages 5 to 8 with one taking place from 8:15 to 10:15 a.m. and another from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The third camp is for youth ages 9 to 13 years old and goes from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
All camps will focus on basic ball-control techniques and players will be taught drills for dribbling, passing, shooting, heading and receiving.
Boys and girls will be grouped based on age and ability.
The cost for each camp is $60 for the first child, $55 for the second and $50 for the third child. Walkups are encouraged.

South boys basketball announces camps
Olathe South’s boys basketball team will conduct three camps in the coming weeks.
Coach Jim Carr’s Falcons will host a youth camp for students entering second through fifth grade June 4-7. The camp takes place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. daily.
A middle school camp is scheduled for June 11-14, running from 2 to 4 p.m. daily, while the high school camp is set for June 11-14 and takes place from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

South assistants organize hoops camp
Olathe South assistant basketball coaches Dan Morrow and Matt Pence will conduct the first Future Falcon youth basketball camp July 9-12.
The four-day camp, which takes place at the high school, will focus on fundamentals with coaches and current Falcons teaching shooting, ball-handling, footwork and other skills.
The camp, which costs $55 and includes a T-shirt, will be split into two groups – one for third- through fifth-graders from 8 to 10 a.m. and another for sixth- through eighth-graders from 10 a.m. to noon.

Falcons football camps
Coming off the first state championship in program history, the Olathe South football team will conduct two camps in early June.
There will be a varsity camp June 4-7 from 9 to 11 a.m., while a middle school/youth camp is set for June 4-6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cost is $60 before May 25 and $70 after, which covers camp instruction, insurance, refreshments and a T-shirt.
Campers will receive instruction in football fundamentals as well as position-specific techniques for offense, defense and special teams.

Hawks girls hoops camps
Olathe East’s girls basketball program is set to conduct two summer camps.
The Lil’ Hawks Basketball Clinic is open to students entering kindergarten through fifth grade. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 29, featuring instruction from East coaches and players.
The cost, which includes a T-shirt and water bottle, is $20 before May 22 and $25 at the door.
A second camp for middle school students (sixth through eighth grades) will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. May 29-June 1.
The middle school camp also will be led by East coaches and players but will be more intensive and provide drills players can utilize throughout the summer to improve offensive and defensive skills.
The cost, which again includes a T-shirt and water bottle, is $55 for the middle school camp.

ONW boys basketball camp
Coming off the best season in program history, Olathe Northwest’s boys basketball team will conduct its annual youth summer camp June 4-8.
There will be three sessions each day,
The first, for players entering kindergarten through fifth grade, is from 8-10 a.m. Another, for students in grades six through eight, is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Finally, the high school camp will take place from 2-4:30 p.m.

East football camp
The Olathe East Football Camp of Champions will take place June 11-14 on the new turf and using new equipment at the high school.
The camp, which is broken into two sessions, runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for children ages 7 to 10 and from 1:30-3:30 p.m. for children ages 11-14.
The cost is $60 per pupil, which includes a T-shirt, drinks and insurance.
Campers, who should register before May 25, will receive instruction in football fundamentals from Hawks coaches and players.

Falcons baseball camps
Olathe South’s baseball team will conduct three camps this summer, including two for students entering sixth through ninth grades.
The first will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 25-28 and registration is due June 22. The second is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 9-12 with registration due July 6.
Both camps cost $100, which includes a T-shirt.
The third camp for students entering second through fifth grades is from 10 a.m. to noon July 16-18. It costs $60 and also includes a T-shirt. Registration is due July 13.
All camps will take place at Black Bob Park, Fields 1 and 8. Walk-ups will be accepted, but the cost goes up $10.

South girls basketball camps
The annual Olathe South girls youth basketball camp is slated for May 29 through June 1 at the high school.
Students entering first through third grades will receive instruction from 10:15-11:30 a.m. The session for fourth- through sixth-graders is from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by a two-hour session for seventh- and eighth-graders from 1-3 p.m.
All girls pre-registered by May 17 will receive a camp T-shirt.
