ANNA LARSON

Anna Larson, 91, of Spring Hill, Kan., passed away Jan. 21, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Spring Hill. Graveside Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo. A Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Anna was born April 8, 1918, in Tampa, Kan., to Andrew and Amelia Schemf Metzler. She grew up in Dorrance, Kan., and moved to Kansas City at age 14. Anna married Alfred G. Larson on April 23, 1938, in Olathe, Kan. They lived in Overland Park and moved to Spring Hill in 1952. They co-owned Larson Nursery in Spring Hill for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God in Paola and attended Jubilee Family Church in Spring Hill. Anna loved the outdoors, gardening and especially canning. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred in 2006, her parents; sister Bertha Weedin and two baby sisters and four brothers, Alex, David, Harry and a baby boy. Anna is survived by her daughters, Shirley Williams of Spring Hill, Nancy Young and LeRoy of Olathe, Joyce Caruthers and Marvin of Wellsville, Kan.; eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
