Making baskets and sharing the basketball weren't the problem Saturday for the MidAmerica Nazarene women's basketball team, which played two games last weekend in the Pizza Ranch Classic at Orange City, Iowa.

Rebounding? Now that was a big issue against Northwestern (Iowa), which is ranked No. 2 in the NAIA Division II Preseason Women's Basketball poll.

The Pioneers shot better than 40 percent from the field and made 12 of 25 3-pointers, dishing 17 assists on 20 baskets, but were out-rebounded 38-14. That more than anything led to a 72-57 loss.

Kristin Malone, Hadleigh Meek and Bethany Rexroth each scored 11 for MidAmerica, 3-2, which dropped its second straight after a three-game win streak to start the season.

Rexrorth also had team-highs in rebounds (4) and assists (4), while Heather Cunard added four assists as well.
