FERN MAXINE BELL

Fern Maxine Bell, 83, passed away Nov. 11, 2009, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Olathe, Kan. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 15 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S Blackbob Rd., Olathe, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 16 also in the chapel of the funeral home. Fern was born May 3, 1926, in Smith Center, Kan. to Elizah and Elsie Lunts-ford. She married Lester M. Bell on Nov. 16, 1950, in Atwood, Kan. They moved to the Olathe area in 1952, where she was employed with Hallmark Cards, Dot Manufacturing, Gills Studio, and retired after more than 20 years of service with Wal-Mart as a greeter.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Butch) Freund, grandsons, Mark Freund and Bryan (Milisa) Freund, grand-daughter, Tammy (Billy) Davis, great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Zachary, Chelsea, Dettie Lou, Sydnee and Diesel, and special companion, Chloe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother, Vernon Luntsford. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
