Pioneers women drop season's first in S.D.
The Olathe News staff
MidAmerica Nazarene's women's basketball team played the University of Sioux Falls to a 25-25 second-half draw Friday night in South Dakota.
Trouble was the Pioneers had already spotted the Cougars a 36-25 lead and dropped their first game of the season 61-50.
Committing 26 turnovers proved to be MidAmerica's undoing.
Senior Bethany Rexroth scored a game-high 14, which was matched by two other players. Rexroth added nine rebounds and a season-high six blocks.
Bethany Schwab hit four 3-pointers and also scored 14, while Kristie Tiegreen grabbed a game-best 12 boards and Hadleigh Meek added a game-high seven assists for the Pioneers, 3-1.
Sioux Falls' Chelsa Baxa also scored 14.
