Johnson County online system that tells who has warrants out on them is popular

Apparently a lot of people want to know who has arrest warrants out on them in Johnson County.

So many people clicked on the Johnson County sheriff’s new online warrant-checking system that the site crashed, said Sheriff’s Deputy Tom Erickson. And computers at the Johnson County District Court slowed.

“We had quadrupled the number of hits we usually have in a day,” Erickson said.

The sheriff’s office has received several tips about wanted offenders, he said.

The searchable database lists the names, descriptions and crimes of everyone wanted out of Johnson County and the cities of Gardner, Spring Hill, De Soto and Edgerton.
