Olathe Comcast subscribers aren't the only ones who can watch city programming on their TVs.

City Council meetings are now available to AT&T U-verse subscribers, according to an announcement from the company Tuesday.

The council meetings and other city and Johnson County programming that had been available only on Comcast cable channel 7 now can be seen by selecting Olathe Government Television on U-verse channel 99.

“Olathe is the only city in Johnson County that provides a government-access channel," Mayor Mike Copeland said in a statement. "Olathe Government Television allows residents to view their City Council and Planning Commission meetings from their homes, which is a very important tool to ensure open and accountable government.”

City Council meetings are broadcast at 7 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Planning Commission meetings are broadcast at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Johnson County Commission meetings can be seen at 9 a.m. every Thursday.

Other programming rounds out the 24-hour coverage the channel provides. For information about programming, visit www.olatheks.org/news/channel7.
