City officials worry they will bear the weight of state cuts

City officials are worried that the state’s budget woes could trickle down to local government. A recent state budget report showed the collection of state revenue has fallen short by about $235 million for the 2009-10 budget. Alex Johnson, 17, a senior at Olathe Northwest High School, has earned the Eagle Scout award, the highest offered in Boy Scouts. Alex, son of David and Allison Johnson of Overland Park, is a member of Troop 425 in Overland Park. The troop is sponsored by Heritage United Methodist Church. Cedar Lake Village dedicates veterans memorial

Residents at Cedar Lake Village on Wednesday dedicated a veterans memorial that was more than two years in the making.
